As a Full-stack Application Engineer at YotaScale, you will be responsible to design, implement application features and APIs for the most visible aspect of Yotascale's product. The organization: Data Platform The Data Platform team's mission is to build, evolve and scale YotaScale's data platform and pipelines. The team charter is (1) develop, improve, and deploy highly scalable distributed data pipelines that ingest, analyze, and store billions of time-series metrics and events to our downstream storage and analytics services; (2) ensure the system delivers high throughput and low latency to enable the delivery of highly available, resilient, and durable services; and (3) build and maintain our real-time data processing streams and frameworks (Spark).

Responsibilities:

• Build robust, scalable systems from scratch and collaborate well with other software engineers in diagnosing, fixing, and preventing production issues
• Proactively work closely with Product Managers and Engineering Teams to develop new features throughout the platform, and maintain and enhance existing functionality
• Identify and resolve performance, scalability and data integrity issues
• Review the developers' code, provide feedback and develop team knowledge
• Set and maintain a high-quality bar in architecture, application stability and performance, and code hygiene

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher, in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with
• consumer-facing/external facing products, including 2+ years of demonstrated
• experience building REST APIs and microservices based applications
• Strong knowledge of Python or Scala and associated tools, spanning the full development
• stack of building APIs, integrations, logging, testing, and monitoring
• Solid CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, design patterns)
• Strong understanding of SQL and experience with at least one DBMS
• Familiar with at least one cache system like redis, memcache
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Kubernetes, docker, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Hive, Hadoop, and Spark is a big plus
• Experience with a major cloud provider AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform
• Good understanding of test driven development and unit testing frameworks in Python
• Good understanding of NoSQL
