Assistant Accountant
Responsibilities:
Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process within Microsoft Dynamics GP (GP) accounting software.
Bank and account reconciliation preparation and adjustments, analytical review and variance analysis
Post invoice batches within the sales module and ensuring that the invoices are being deferred correctly in GP.
Coordinate and prepare customer invoices and reconcile monthly invoice activity to ensure completeness and accuracy
Coordinates and manages all relevant support relating to customer invoices including executed contracts, purchase orders and other support material.
Reconcile the AP and AR Subledgers to the General Ledger
Preparation of journal entries for month-end close
Process accounts payable by analyzing different invoices and making sure they are coded correctly and posting them into GP.
Assistance with the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations monthly and related reports
Assistance with the preparation of revenue analysis reports monthly
Assistance with the preparation of trial balance variance analysis and commentary monthly
Generates and maintains complete records of all financial transactions in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and in time to meet internal and external timelines
Assistance with quarter-end and year-end deliverables to other teams including the Corporate team and External Auditors
Implement process improvements to accounting processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Undertake special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed.
Education and Technical Skills
2+ years of proven bookkeeping/accounting experience.
Finalist or part-qualified Professional qualification (ACCA / ICAP or similar), Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
Experience with ERP and proprietary software (preferably Microsoft Dynamics GP).
Proficiency in English communication skills and in MS Office (primarily in MS Excel).
A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and work in a rapidly changing environment
Maintain a continuous improvement mindset and proactively identify, review, and implement process improvements.
