Prepress Production Artist / Designer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Prepress Production Artist to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of design principles, color theory, typography, and layout, along with expertise in preparing digital files for print production. You will collaborate closely with graphic designers, clients, and print production teams to ensure that all visual materials meet the highest quality standards and are print-ready.

Responsibilities:

Review, Edit and finalize designs created by stakeholders, designers for print production.

Ensure that all design elements adhere to brand guidelines and print specifications.

Prepare and adjust digital files, ensuring proper color profiles, resolution, and file formats for various printing methods.

Collaborate with graphic designers and clients to resolve any design or technical issues related to pre-press preparation.

Conduct thorough quality checks to identify and rectify any errors in the artwork, including image resolution, color accuracy, and font embedding.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Communicate effectively with print vendors to relay technical requirements and troubleshoot any production issues.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, software updates, and advancements in printing technology.

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field (equivalent work experience).

Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

Strong understanding of color theory, typography, and design principles.

Experience in pre-press production and preparing files for various printing methods (offset, digital, large format, etc.).

Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of print production processes, including color separation, trapping, and proofing.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Familiarity with different file formats (PDF, TIFF, EPS, etc.) and their appropriate uses.

Knowledge of color management and ICC profiles is a plus.

Previous experience working in a design agency or print production environment is preferred.
