Database Developer

Database Development:

Design, develop, and maintain relational databases that meet the organization's data requirements.

Create and optimize database schemas, tables, indexes, and views.

SQL Coding:

Write efficient and performant SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.

Troubleshoot and optimize existing SQL code for improved performance.

Database Integration:

Develop and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources.

Collaborate with data architects and other teams to ensure smooth data flow and integration.

Data Security:

Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access control and encryption.

Stay informed about security best practices and apply necessary updates.

Data Optimization:

Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure high availability and responsiveness.

Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and issues.

Data Modeling:

Create and maintain data models to support business requirements.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and ensure data models align with business goals.

Documentation:

Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of database systems, including schemas, processes, and best practices.

Collaboration:

Work closely with application developers and business analysts to support application releases and database-related projects.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

A minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Database Developer.

Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Postgres, Oracle, MySQL).

Strong SQL programming skills.

Familiarity with ETL processes and tools.

Knowledge of data security and encryption best practices.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
