Urban Planner

Responsibilities:

• Develop, plans and programs for the use of land for towns, cities, counties and regions, while taking into account environmental, zoning and legal issues.
• Meet with decision makers and the public to determine needs and limitations
• Gather and analyze census data, environmental studies and economic reports
• Review site plans created by developers and architects
• Conduct field investigations
• Identify project feasibility and any plan changes
• Recommend whether proposals should be approved or denied
• Present reports to government officials and the public about land-use projects.
