Business Development Manager (Herbs, Fruits & Vegetables)

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an innovative, competitive and economically sustainable product range and a corresponding portfolio strategy for the product groups in the field of responsibility on the basis of the business unit strategy.
  • Excellent understanding about FMCG market, market behaviour, and consumer trends, consumer needs and potential area for future growth.
  • Create and hold product presentations at customer workshops in collaboration with Sales
  • Excellent understanding of formulating marketing strategy, brand marketing plan, launching plan and action plan.
  • Excellent understanding of marketing research management with deep customer insight.
  • Monitor revenue development and sales activities of the products in the field of responsibility in accordance with defined performance indicators (turnover, sales, market share, etc.) and develop and conduct measures for improving the revenue situation in collaboration with Sales.
  • Operative management of innovation projects in collaboration with Innovation Management, R&D and Sales.
  • Intensive knowledge of product management which consists of development of promotional material, preparing the promotional budget, allocation of promotional materials, analysing components of a product cost etc.
  • Deep insight in sales management including setting tour program, fixing territory wise sales target for brands, methods used in formulating incentives to field forces, launching new product, evaluation of the selling skills of a field force etc.
  • Excellent understanding of project management including break-even analysis, evaluating the technical and commercial viability of a new project, calculation of the pay back period of the project.
  • Very good understanding of the newly developed technologies and processes relating to FMCG business.
  • Excellent understanding of media environment, both mass media and electronic media.
  • Thorough knowledge of product development process which includes the process from the concept to product launch.
  • Excellent understanding of distributor management including sourcing and appointing distributors, distributor relationship and distribution management.
  • Very good understanding of financial management and commercial activities related to the business.
  • Excellent understanding of the regulatory requirement regarding FMCG business.
  • Basic human resource management with respect to subordinates such as motivation, team building, career plan, compensations system, person specifications, job description etc.
  • Good understanding of training including identifying training needs, preparing training schedules and modules and imparting effective training.
  • Good understanding of printing and packaging related activities such as colour scheme, printing process of promo materials etc.
