Manager - Sustainability and Environment
Job Responsibilities
- Independently handle the Environment and Chemical management projects and also the team.
- To take a lead role in the Group Company's aims regarding environmental performance with particular reference to energy, water, waste, chemicals etc.
- Dealing with authorized legal environmental departments regarding environmental activities of Bangladesh.
- To response and to communicate with a number of buyers and organizations relating to different sustainability survey i,e Ralph Lauren, PVH, Tommy Hilfiger, Inditex group, etc.
- Liaise with internal and external bodies in developing and implementing appropriate GHG emissions, ODS inventory, Hazardous waste management strategies and policies including the provision of guidance to relevant staff to assist them in achieving compliance with legislation and company policies.
- We have a LEED GOLD certified factory and we need the Monitoring and record keeping of consumption of fossil fuel, purchase electricity, water and waste production within the company and set targets for consumption in conjunction with other staff.
- Establish the ISO 14001:2015 requirement and Environment Management System.
- Promote the energy efficiency and awareness campaigns, trainings.
- To identify the company's training needs for related skills and work with Senior Managers in the development and delivery of environmental training programs.
- To participates in environment and sustainability programs like SAC Higg Index, CDP, PACT, CPI2 etc. Certificates
- Participate and record the Audit of various environmental and sustainable certificates along with the compliance team (Organic, European Flax, Join Life, Care for water etc.)
- Keep record and publish on use of the sustainable raw material (Organic/BCI/ Recycled material etc.) and process used in our product. Make an yearly target of such use and guide concern to achieve the same.
- Generate sustainability report each year with the data collected from the whole year activity in regards to carbon emission, use of energy, water and sustainable raw material.
