Pathologist


Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure care & maintenance of all the lab instruments & equipment
  • Carrying out day to day regular & emergency lab procedures
  • Ensure availability of all related reagents & logistics of Laboratory, ensure proper storage and usages of equipment & consumable
  • Review stock & initiate requisition for laboratory activities
  • Documentation of all lab activities
  • Keep service records and prepare monthly report
  • Protects patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols.
  • Attend all trainings and ensure knowledge dissemination to assistant
  • Ensuring collection, processing, and handling all biological specimens according to IPCD
  • Counsel the patients on sample collection process
  • Conducts blood tests for transfusion purposes; may draw blood from patient's finger, ear lobe, or vein observing principles of asepsis to obtain blood samples.
  • Conducting and supporting scientific investigations and experiments
  • Performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests in the areas of hematology, microbiology, immunology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis, as assigned; conducts quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses of body fluids such as blood, urine, and spinal fluid; performs blood counts using microscope.
  • Develops and maintains cell/tissue cultures for testing purposes, as appropriate; isolates and identifies specimens, using advanced laboratory techniques.
  • Performs quality control on test results, ensuring validity and accuracy.
  • Performs calibration and troubleshooting on testing systems and instruments to ensure adherence to established standards of accuracy.
  • Keeps records and reports on results according to established procedures.
  • Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Planning, setting up and undertaking controlled experiments and trials
  • Recording and analysing data

  • Collecting, preparing and/or testing samples
  • Maintaining, calibrating, cleaning and testing sterility of the equipment
  • Providing technical support
  • Presenting results to senior staff
  • Writing reports, reviews and summaries
  • Keeping up to date with relevant scientific and technical developments
  • Supervising staff
  • Carrying out risk assessments
  • Ordering and maintaining stock and resources
