Project Officer (Legal)
Job Responsibilities
- Work with the Inclusive Citizenship (IC) team at the field level
- Be the focal point in the field level for all legal information searches for the program and Organization.
- Provide legal counseling and advice on the legal issue to Paralegal and sometimes to our beneficiary
- Facilitate and conduct legal awareness sessions for Char people
- Assist to file cases with the support of District Legal Aid Offices (DLAC), follow up on settlement of disputes resolved, and maintain mediation files and records
- Assist to file complaints, FIR, GD and cases at police stations and courts
- Facilitate and conduct a monthly orientation program for FCP/FCGA
- Collect and analyze case stories, and send it to the focal point of Head Office
- Maintain regular field visits and monitor our Paralegal's function as well as Legal Information Booth and report to the Head Office focal point
- Facilitate and conduct training and build capacity for project supervisors and paralegals on legal assistance
- Maintain liaison with the public and private stakeholders at the union, upazila and district level stakeholder to ensure access to justice for the project beneficiaries.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly/half-yearly/yearly legal statements/ reports and work plans as per guideline
- Perform administrative and management functions
- Perform all other duties as and when required by the focal point of Legal (HO)
Experience Requirements
- 1 to 2 year(s)
Additional Requirements
- Age 25 to 35 years
- Excellent computer skills
- Written and speaking fluency in English and Bengali
- Strong report writing and communication skills both Bangla and in English
- 1/2 years of experience mostly in rights-related issues
- Strong presentation, communication, and advocacy skills
- Strong interpersonal skill
- Strong leadership skill
