Watsan Supervisor

Job Responsibilities

Ensuring the day-to-day implementation and administration of assigned Watsan activities at project level, including but not limited to, water supply, excreta disposal, waste management, vector control, and dead bodies management

Ensuring that the MSF procedures and protocols are followed by the Watsan teams to guarantee the operational quality of the project;

Ensuring the maintenance and repair of technical equipment in the project to guarantee an adequate running of Watsan activities;

Ensuring the distribution of the materials and tools used in water treatment, hygiene and sanitation (e.g. physical organization and inventory of stocks, receiving and processing orders for water, sanitation and hygiene material, check that the amounts received are recorded, and check monthly consumptions, etc.);

Supporting the Watsan Manager in ensuring an appropriate emergency preparedness and response capacity (physical verification of stocks, contacts, transport means, staff training). Ensuring appropriate assistance to the project response team and if required, participating in emergency activities or exploratory visits

Manage 2 (at least) watsan assistants:

Ensure good conduct of hygiene activities according to MSF hygiene promotion strategy

Coordinate different activities in the mega camp

Ensure proper training if needed

Liaison with MSF Watsan manager for reporting, adaptation of strategy

Assist to Manager to response & appropriate managing in emergency time.

Watsan related assessment & data collection

Liaison with MSF Watsan supervisors to ensure the good conduct of hygiene promotion activities in the mega camp and adapt in case of need.

Assist to Manager for Volunteer's recruitment & Payment Sheet prepare.

Stock Maintain & Request order prepared if needed.

This is a camp based position and requires the holder of this position to walk long distances in the camp in any type of weather. Therefore, strong physical condition is required.

Educational Requirements

Technical diploma, desirable specialization in water and sanitation

Experience Requirements

At least 1 year(s)

Additional Requirements

Both males and females are allowed to apply

Relevant work experience in Hygiene promotion essential 1 year

Relevant work experience at community level

Relevant work experience in monitoring and evaluation

Demonstrable experience in supervising, training and coaching others

Experience in camp is an asset.

Spoken and written English, Bangla and Chittagonian/Burmese essential.

Computer skills

Ability to collect and analyze data using different sampling methods.

Ability to adapt a hygiene promotion strategy to the context

Ability to cope with stress

Ability to organize and prioritize workload, using initiative when appropriate
