Responsibilities & Context
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Executive/Executive in Customs & Bond to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of customs compliance and bond management for our international trade operations. This role requires a deep understanding of customs regulations, excellent attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Ensure strict adherence to customs regulations and policies for both import and export activities.
Stay updated on changes in customs laws and guidelines, and communicate relevant updates to the team.
Review and manage all documentation required for customs clearance, including invoices, shipping manifests, and certificates of origin.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of customs-related documentation.
Determine the appropriate tariff classification for imported and exported goods, ensuring accurate duty calculations.
Stay informed about changes in tariff codes and classifications.
Oversee and manage customs bonds to ensure compliance with regulations and timely renewals.
Work closely with finance and legal teams to address any bond-related issues.
Identify potential risks and issues related to customs compliance and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Implement measures to enhance customs compliance and minimize risks associated with international trade.
Collaborate with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate the smooth movement of goods across borders.
Effectively communicate customs requirements to internal teams and external partners.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all customs-related activities and transactions.
Prepare reports for management and regulatory authorities as required.
Provide training to staff and other stakeholders on customs and bond-related matters to ensure a thorough understanding of compliance requirements.
Address and resolve any customs-related issues or disputes that may arise during the import/export process.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
Stay informed about changes in customs regulations, trade agreements, and international trade laws.
Advise the organization on potential impacts and recommend necessary adjustments to ensure ongoing compliance.
