7 Tips to improve employee satisfaction

As your employees represent your company to the public, it is your job to make sure that your employee is happy and satisfied. Employee satisfaction is nothing too complicated; it doesn’t take a lot to make sure that your employees are satisfied with working in your company. Sincere and small efforts are what it takes to satisfy your employees. Not only will they be enjoying working this way but they’ll stick to your company for a longer period of time.

Let’s go through a few ways to improve employee satisfaction.

Communicate

First of all, remember that communicating is a two-way thing; listening and speaking. Hold weekly or monthly meetings with your employees to know where they stand. Listen to their problems and focus on how you can make it better for them to survive in your company. Be polite. Respect your employees. You earn respect by giving it. No employee will ever be satisfied to work in a company with a grumpy boss who isn’t polite.

Feedback

Do an employee satisfaction survey every month and ask them to rate their satisfaction from 1 – 10. Include questions about their growth in the company; if they vision themselves growing in the future or not, if they feel like their work is fulfilling etc. Ask for their suggestions as well and show that you do care about your employees by acting upon them.

Avoid giving extra work

Assign your employees with the work they had been hired for. Asking them to put in more effort in the field they don’t have an expertise or an interest in will not have good consequences. Instead of learning something new, you might just push them away from your company forever. Don’t overburden them by asking them to handle work in different departments when it is not their job to do so.

Get together!

Yes, you may see each other A LOT but plan dinners or events with employees and don’t talk about work. Working every day and following the same routine gets boring for everyone as human nature demands changes once in a while. To make sure that your employees are falling into the line, plan get togethers to break up the routine. Give them something to be excited about and to look forward to.

Motivate and inspire

Encourage your employees! Let them know on a daily basis about how proud you are to have them working in your company and how amazing they are at work! This will not only motivate them but they would want to do more for your company. They will take up challenges well and work even harder. This is a great step for employee satisfaction.

“Shine bright like a diamond”

Give a chance to your employees to shine! Choose an “employee of the month” to show how hard working your employees are. This will create a healthy competition amongst the colleagues striving to be better. Knowing that someone will win an accolade and it might be you creates motivation and a good connection of the employees with the boss.

Rewards! Rewards! Rewards!

Give incentives to your employees regularly along with giving their salaries on time. Don’t delay their salaries and their rewards; for all the efforts and hard work they put in.

These were some of the effective and inexpensive ways to satisfy your employees. Give them room to grow and challenge them every day to get more productivity and satisfaction.
