Dengue Red Alert

A host of discoveries in around Rawalpindi, of Dengue Larvae has prompted the Health Ministry to issue a Dengue Alert all over the city. The Health Ministry issued a statement in which it warned the citizens to be careful when stepping outside and use adequate protection against mosquito bites.

As the weather changes to spring, larvae production is increased due to the ease at which the mosquitos can procreate, hence raising the dengue risk, which is far lower in the winter season.

The secretary of Education has also given his directives on the matter:

He asked that the ‘’ Schools should clean their washrooms, water tanks on a daily basis while the roofs should be cleaned, and cleared of any wild plantation. The orders directed to stop leakages from any pipes and recommended that bushes in school playgrounds be destroyed’’.
