Software Engineer - Symfony Web and Web services

Job DescriptionThe Division:The Uniphy Health Clinical Communications Platform is designed to help healthcare organizations meet the clinical communications needs of today, with a clear transition path into the value-based future of healthcare.The Position:We are looking for a Software Engineer for a six-month contract with the possibility of extending, who will be responsible for:

• Create and maintain various Symfony3-based programs to process incoming and outgoing health records.
• Work with project managers to interface to coordinate software system installation and monitoring to ensure specifications are met.
• Modify existing software to correct errors, or to improve performance.
• Implement monitoring systems to ensure services continue to be available with the required service level.
• Implement and run Unit tests.
• Perform root cause analysis and outline and/or implement corrective actions.
• Utilize software engineering tools such as configuration management systems, build processes, and debuggers in the software development process.
• Follow company coding standards in accordance with applicable software development methodology and release processes.
• Provide documentation for the work product.
• Apply a sense of urgency, commitment and focus to the right priorities in developing solutions in a timely fashion.
• Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design the system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
• Estimate level of effort, evaluate new options of similar technology, offer suggestions to improve processes, and provide comments on some electrical design aspects.
• Review product and/or application information including technical manuals and brochures.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
• The chosen individual will work out of the Contour Software Islamabad/Lahore/Karachi resource center office, as an extension of the division-based R&D department.

Desired Skills and Responsibilities:

• Masters degree in Computer Science or related field with five or more years of relevant experience, or Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field and seven years of relevant experience
• Extensive experience in software development, modern design patterns and web technologies under e-commerce enabled environments using multi-tier architectures
• In depth, multi-year, experience with Symfony or Laravel Frameworks and MVC-based PHP coding.
• Understanding of using large-scale MySQL clusters.
• Significant experience with Bash on Linux.
• Good understanding and hands on experience of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and associated tools, i.e., Jira, bitbucket.
• Experience in software architecture and design, documentation, and developing and maintaining large-scale, high-availability systems.
• Ability to solve complex technical problems and effectively communicate solutions to system architects, peers and management.
• Experience with high volume, high-availability applications and systems.
• Proven track record in developing high quality applications on schedule in a fast-paced development environment.
• Excellent written and personal communication skills
