The Position:

We are looking for a talented individual to join our team in the role of a Systems Administrator who will focus improving the efficiency of our infrastructure and availability of our applications. This candidate must have strong analysis and troubleshooting skills with experience managing enterprise class applications and infrastructure. Strong experience with open source technologies is required.

The successful hire will be located and work out of the Contour Software Lahore office, working as part of the resource-center team, as an extension of the division-based R&D department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide ongoing management & support for offrs data center infrastructure

Maintain site servers and hosted web applications, ensuring uptime and site responsiveness

Collaborate with DevOps team to roll out and automate configuration & release of builds to Production

Manage an environment comprised of both Windows and Linux systems

Manage various network devices and services (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, etc.)

Participate in product discussions, influence the roadmap and take ownership and responsibility for new projects to make them happen

Be willing to work off-hours when necessitated by business requirements or system failures.

Required Skills:

7 years recent experience

3+ years of experience working with various Linux distributions (Red Hat/CentOS preferred)

3+ years experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g. VMWare, Hyper-V, Xen, etc.)

5+ years experience with Windows Server operating systems & technologies (.NET, IIS, etc.)

Familiarity and operational knowledge of open source systems in a mixed Windows/Linux environment

Strong analysis and troubleshooting skills including experience with related tools

Proficient in scripting technologies (PowerShell, Bash, Perl, Python, Ruby, etc.)

Experience managing highly-available production and campus networks

Desired Skills:

Operational experience with Container Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, or Mesos

Experience with various monitoring packages (e.g. Zabbix, nagios, cacti, munin, etc.)

Experience working with Puppet or other configuration management systems

Operational experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, etc.)
