Lay Counselor

Job Description

To perform basic counseling and/ or educational activities to the patients/ their families and support groups, following MSF protocols and procedure, in order to improve the health condition of the patients.

Carry out individually or in a group, basic counseling and/ or educational sessions to patients, their families and clinic staff. Refer patients when necessary to specialists or other external actors in order to provide the best available support. Keep files and statistics updated about the counseling and/ or educational activities.

Actively promote the availability of MSF services.

Higher secondary school/certificate (Intermediate diploma)

Formal degree in Social Work

English (basic) Essential

Bengali speaker (preferred)
