Paediatrician Supervisor (New born Unit)
Permanent position
Médecins Sans Frontières is a private medical international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Provide new-born care to patients according to adapted and updated medical knowledge, MSF protocols, values and universal hygiene standards to improve the new-born health conditions and sustain the ongoing enhancement of the Women’s Hospital New-born Unit.
· Manage the team of Medical Officer under his/her direct responsibility
· Support clinical supervision of the Medical staff in the correct use of MSF neonatal protocols
· Manage neonates from admission to discharge, ensuring prescription and administration of relevant medical care, supervising isolation of patients and palliative-care, supporting resuscitation, together with linking with families and staff members
· Supervise and follow up referrals
· Ensure good communication flow within the team and with the other hospital departments
· Participate in mortality meetings, medical and project strategy meetings
· Coordinate trainings for permanent staff in neonatal field
· Produce monthly activity report and data analysis
· Increase links with local health authorities
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Essential (mandatory)
- Doctor Degree. FCPS (Pediatrician) cleared, PMDC registered. Preferably neonatologist or General Paediatrician with experience as a supervisor.
- Experience in Neonatology
- Experience with CPAP
- Good clinical skills
- Ability to respond quickly in case of emergency
- Availability and reachable out of working hours for technical support in remote
- Fluent in English, Pashto and Urdu
- Desirable: Teamwork, Flexibility, Patience, Diplomatic communication, Commitment, Reporting skills, Stress management
- Previous experience with MSF or other INGO is an asset.
CONDITIONS
WORK LOCATION: Women Hospital – University Town, Peshawar
CONTRACT: Permanent position (1)
SHIFTS: Sitting duty 8AM to 4PM Monday to Friday including during public holidays. Technical calls out of working hours.
PROBABLE START DATE: As soon as possible
