Context and Background

Medical Emergency Resilience Foundation (MERF) is a non-governmental, independent, and non for profit humanitarian organization founded in 2015. MERF is established to provide vital health care and medical relief for vulnerable people in areas of natural disaster, conflict, disease outbreak, and health systems collapse.  MERF acts regardless of race, gender, religious or political affiliation.

MERF operations are run by the employees and professionals, all of whom are highly motivated and committed to working flexibly toward the humanitarian aims and objectives of the organization and to the benefit of disadvantaged populations. 

Main Purpose of the Role:

Controls fractionating columns, compressors, purifying towers, heat exchangers, and related equipment to extract nitrogen and oxygen

. Responsibilities/Accountabilities

·        Observes pressure, temperature, level, and flow gauges to ensure standard operation.

·        Tests of oxygen for purity and moisture content at various stages of the process, using burette and a moisture meter.

·        Adjusts equipment according to test results and knowledge of process and equipment.

·        Opens valves to transfer liquid or gaseous oxygen through the heat exchanger to cool air, to heat and vaporize liquid oxygen, and to store gaseous or liquid oxygen in storage tanks at specified temperature and pressure.

·        Turns valves to transfer compressed oxygen to storage cylinders.

·        Cleans and repairs equipment, such as replacing defective valves and removing carbon from valves, using handtools and air hose.

·        Records gauge readings and test results.

Requirements (Person Specification)

·        Trained hemodialysis Technician, qualified from recognized Center

·        Previous experience in NGO work.

·        Good knowledge of quality standards and quality controls related to medical practice.

·        Educated with fluency in English, Urdu, Pashto

·        Strong interpersonal and communication skills

·        Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility, motivation, and maturity
