Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Communication Specialist, the Communication Consultant shall effectively support the National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC) of the Polio Eradication Program in advocacy and communication related activities, including preparation of various briefs, reports, and communication materials for external audiences.
The consultant must be available to provide services as and when required.
Remuneration will be paid based the experience of the consultant and the nature and type of the assignment.
Work with Communication Specialist (Media) and other senior members of NEOC Communication Task Team to determine key points, themes, positions, and core messages for speeches and public statements.
Draft and edit briefing papers, speeches, meeting minutes, media contents for the Polio programme.
Research, verify content, and transform complex concepts into clear, meaningful and reader friendly communications content to be used for advocacy purposes.
Support to organise periodic meeting of the NEOC Communication Task team and provide necessary support as required.
Conceptualize, draft and draft products and communication materials for advocacy in collaboration with the PEI Team and other relevant actors.
Oversee the qualitative aspects of production such as quality control, translation, review of layouts and graphic design.
Prepare/advise on slide presentations (PowerPoint) to support the programme as required.
Education:
MA in Journalism, Communications, International Affairs, English, or any other relevant area (or equivalent experience)
Experience:
At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience with in media/communications at national or subnational level, with practical experience in media content development, speech writing, development of briefing note etc.
Skills required:
Excellent English writing skills, including experience in creating, editing and proofreading various documents within a professional organization.
Time management skills and able to work under strict deadlines.
Ability to synthesize information from a wide range of sources to develop thoughtful and original ideas.
