Finance Manager

Responsibilities

 Support the SSC Team in preparing annual/quarter Work Plan of the project. Prepare project’s annual Cash Plan based on Rolling Work Plan and Budget approved by UNICEF.

  • Analyze, plan, design, implement, and monitor a system to augment internal controls in line with best practices in the process of payment and expenditure management and follow UNICEF policy and procedures. 
  • Apply pre-audit checks on all payments before payment from the assignment accounts including budget availability, sanction of competent authority and compliance with applicable financial rules & regulations.
  •  Record all transactions timely and accurately in the books of accounts and ensure that no expenditure remained unaccounted.
  • Maintain accounts on cash basis as per government accounting procedures and compliance of UNICEF financial requirement.
  •  Ensure up-to-date maintenance of adequate registers, books of accounts and records in appropriate order and format to meet the government and UNICEF’s requirements and to facilitate classification and analyzing the financial information for monitoring the project progress.
  • Maintain petty cash and ensure maintenance of separate petty cash book and petty cash vouchers and compliance with petty cash SOPs approved by the UNICEF.
  •  Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements of assignment account.
  • Ensure that the fixed assets records are maintained for the project identifying location and user of each asset and arrange for the annual and periodical inventory of the assets and updating of the records.

Experience Required:

  •  An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in MBA (Finance) or M. Com, BBA(Finance), computer Science, Information Technology or any other related field. 
  • A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree
  • Experience - A minimum of two years of professional experience in administrative and financial management.
  • Proven record of managing Financial transactions, financial record keeping, Budgeting, audits and financial reporting.
  • Experience in Financial Management
  • Expertise in administration management 
  • Skills - Demonstrated Computer Skill (Proficiency in using computer desktop application MS Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point).
