Job Description

Participates in application/DB outage incidents to ensure database integrity and

Defines and maintains database problem reporting, tracking, and resolution procedures.

Provides proactive input into design issues/constraints, performance tuning, and impact

Ensure maximum uptime according to the SLA

Helping team members in case of Issues/Technical Problems

Research the business needs of our applications and optimize them using MongoDB

Adding / removing replica and shard nodes in Mongodb Cluster as needed. Created Text Index for querying specific documents with string content.

Good knowledge of a shard key and making sure of even distribution of data across multiple shards.

Converted replica set to sharded cluster because of data size growth and better query rate planning.

Configure, manage and troubleshoot MongoDB Sharded cluster

Configuring MongoDB replica set with members and arbiter

Configure and monitor MongoDB instances

Worked on Upgrade/migrations of replicaSet and Sharded cluster from 4.0 to 4.4

Deploying, migrating data, monitoring, analyzing, and tuning MongoDB.

In-depth knowledge of Ops Manager and Ops manager Upgrade.

Knowledge about Groups and Project in Ops Manager

Knowledge about Authentication and Authorization and X509 authentication

Should have Configured SSL key files to implement security across all mongod instances.

Extensive knowledge of Mongo replication architecture and change stream.

Documenting MongoDB installation, operations, security, auditing multiple environments.

Troubleshoot any problems that may come up with the database environments: performance issues, replication issues, or operational issues.

Design and implement HA/DR policies

Comfortable in using MongoDB tools like, mongostat, mongotop, mongoexport, mongoimport, mongodump, mongorestore etc.

Should have knowledge about Query plan architecture and performance tuning at host and DB level.

Establish and maintain backup, restore and recovery processes.
