Retail Planner

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends.
  • Foster trust relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services.
  • Place appropriate orders to ensure product availability that meets consumer demands.
  • Liaise with marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category.
  • Provide high-level coordination and technical expertise to ensure effective
  • Management of the strategic planning process to ensure effective implementationof the new strategy.
  • Designing and implementing a business planning framework to support the
  • Implementation of our Strategic Plan.
  • Managing the development of a new business and financial model aligned to thenew strategy.
  • Managing the design, monitoring and reporting of key organizational performance
  • Measures including financial performance.
  • Devising a merchandising plan using the above
  • Devising a contract for the suppliers, including quality control, accuracy and flexibility, which is done throughout the season.
  • Allocating certain amounts of stock to each outlet throughout the season, to minimize unnecessary stock holdings for maximum budgetary
  • Helping build, reconcile and aligning sales and inventory plans to achieve financial objectives
  • Preparing and updating monthly open-to-buy forecasts
  • Maximizing sales, turn and profitability
  • Helping assess and identifying brand opportunities
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with members of cross-functional teams
  • Collaborating with team to ensure consistency of information, share best practices and develop systems knowledge
  • Assisting in planning/forecasting markdown activity.
  • Support the department’s weekly reporting needs
  • Maintain and update the open-to-buy daily, weekly and monthly, as needed
  • Participate in a cross-functional team

Skills:

  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent logical analysis, problem-solving and decision making skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Experience in Excel other Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Power Point and Word.
