Network Engineer - SDN

Job Description

Network SDN Engineer will design and implement the enhancements and future capabilities for the architecture.

He defines, plans, and supports the execution of the evolution of our current network capabilities to enhanced and expanded network infrastructures and ensures that that the services provided to customers are continuously available and performing to Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance levels.

Responsibilities:

Maintain and troubleshoot Network, configuration of Router & Switches VLAN, InterVLAN, Etherchannel, STP, RSTP, VTP ,L2Mpls, L3Mpls circuit configuration, Network Monitoring, Monitoring Documentation, Daily bandwidth utilization, Links status, and CRC report

Able to update and maintain the Load balancing technology including algorithms and health check options

Maintain the Global Server Load Balancing/GTM, Local load balancing/LTM, SSL acceleration, HTTP compression/caching, and DNS

Design, deploy and support Data Center Networks utilizing industry best practices and Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure and Nexus 9k platforms.

Contribute to the development and performance of a migration plan from the traditional data center network designs to Cisco ACI.

Integrate services appliances to Cisco ACI deployments to include Application Delivery Controllers and Firewalls.

Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.

Create Low Level Design, High Level Design, Implementation Plan, and Acceptance Test Plan documents in accordance with Capital One standards.

Requirements:

BS (IT), BCE degree or equivalent

Hands on experience with enterprise load balancers such as F5 Load Balancer

Hands on experience applications migration from legacy network to transform SDN network

Hands on experience with Cisco APIC SDN controller architecture

Hands on experience on how to create different application policies in the ACI including Tenants, Application Network Profile (ANP), End Point Group (EPG), Contracts, Subjects and Filters

Hands on experience on the Fabric Access Policy including how to create switch policies, interface policies, AEPs, Physical and External Domains

Hands on experience on Fabric Discovery Activity including Verifying the APIC and LEAF Health

Hands on experience configuring and deploying enterprise-class networks including the following products: Cisco Nexus 9k, 7k, 5k, 3k Switches, Cisco Catalyst Switches and Cisco ASR / ISR Routers

Strong understanding of external L2/L3 fabric connectivity and Experience in L2/L3 switching Architecture design

Knowledge of TCP as it pertains to packet inspection and network/applications

Must have a solid understanding in BGP, OSPF, VDC, vPC, VXLAN, ECMP and Fabric Path

Experience with at least one compute virtualization platform: VMware, vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V or KVM

Excellent customer handling skills to lead datacenter project delivery in a technical capacity with use cases

Hands on experience with SolarWinds & Cisco Prime Infrastructure

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
