Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Sound Knowledge of Electrical, Electronic Principles and computers in relation to Elevator & Escalator electric circuit wiring, electric motors, control system and programming.

2. Sound Knowledge on Mechanical Principles in relation to operation of Elevators and Escalators and hoisting systems.

3. Reading & interpreting the Construction diagrams and Blue Prints to determine the layout of system components, frameworks and foundation.

4. Selecting installation equipment and materials.

5. Knowledge of safety practices and procedure at Construction and Maintenance sites.

6. Testing and commissioning new Elevators and Escalators.

7. Inspecting wiring connections, control panel hookups, door installations, and alignments and clearances of cars.

8. Operate elevators to determine power demands, and test power consumption to detect overload factors.

9. Maintain logbooks for each Elevator and Escalator

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Degree/Higher Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or other similar or equivalent Certification.

2. Must have a 2 or more years of hands on experience in Elevators and Escalators commissioning and maintenance.

3. Must be a team player and have good interpersonal communication skills to be able to plan, lead, organize, co-ordinate and control staff under him to achieve a given work goal or objective.

4. Must be computer literate.

5. Must agree to be on call 24 hours, 7 days a week in case of emergencies like freeing people trapped in a lift or emergency repairs.

6. Capable of working long hours (overtime) where emergency repairs or construction sites deadlines need to be met.
