Head of Placement

Responsibilities & Context

The Head of Job Placement at SAIC Group oversees the development and implementation of strategies to optimize student job placement across all sister concerns. Responsibilities include fostering employer relationships, utilizing data analytics, refining placement processes, policy development, software management, workshop coordination, alumni engagement, record-keeping, and facilitating student career readiness.

Develop comprehensive strategies and action plans to streamline and enhance the job placement process for students within all sister concerns of the SAIC Group.

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with employers, industry partners, and stakeholders to facilitate job placement opportunities for students across diverse fields and sectors.

Provide effective leadership, guidance, and support to the job placement teams across all sister concerns, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.

Utilise data analytics to monitor job market trends, track placement outcomes, and identify areas for improvement, while also generating regular reports to inform decision-making processes.

Continuously evaluate and refine job placement strategies, processes, and services based on feedback, best practices, and emerging trends to optimise student success rates.

To develop, implement, and oversee the job placement policy ensuring the successful employment of all students within their relevant subjects and fields, in alignment with the organisation's strategy.

Ensure that the job placement policy is in line with the overarching strategy and goals of the organisation, fostering synergy between academic achievements and industry demands.

Oversee the updating and maintenance of the job placement software system, ensuring it effectively supports the placement process and meets the evolving needs of employers and students.

Create comprehensive job placement reports and gather reports from all sister concerns within the SAIC Group, organising monthly meetings to review placement progress and discuss strategies for improvement.

Coordinate and conduct workshops to provide guidance and career counselling to students, empowering them with the necessary skills and knowledge for successful job placement.

Organise and facilitate visits to industries, allowing students to gain firsthand experience and insights into their respective fields, thereby enhancing their employability.

Actively search for job opportunities through various channels, facilitate interview arrangements both on and off campus to connect students with potential employers Conduct surveys among students to assess job placement requirements and preferences, facilitating better matching between students and employment opportunities.

Establish and maintain an alumni association to stay updated about their career progression and provide support in their job search endeavours.

Maintain meticulous records of all job placement activities, including student placements, employer engagements, and alumni interactions, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.

Collaborate with industry partners to establish Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and organise job fairs, providing platforms for students to network and secure employment opportunities.

Offer assistance and guidance to students in the preparation of resumes and curriculum vitae (CVs), equipping them with the tools necessary to showcase their skills and experiences effectively.
