Engineer (Instrument), BOGCL
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain PLC/DCS programs, including program upload/download and fault finding through online program checking.
- Troubleshoot PLC/DCS system hardware issues and ensure proper functioning of the systems.
- Interpret and analyze process P&ID, PFD, HAZOP, LOPA, and electrical control wiring schemes to understand system requirements.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of different types of process field instruments, perform calibration, and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
- Apply knowledge of control loops, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, DCS, and PLC to optimize process monitoring and control.
- Set up different PID controllers and fine-tune control loops to achieve desired process performance.
- Execute field instrument calibration procedures accurately and efficiently.
- Plan and implement modifications or upgrades to PLC/DCS programs to enhance process monitoring and control capabilities.
- Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability for maintenance and repairs.
- Prepare daily reports for the Head of Department, documenting activities, findings, and recommendations.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively under stress and meet tight deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations during all electrical job activities.

- 4-5 years of experience in Automation and DCS systems in Oil Refinery/Chemical Industries.
- Good knowledge of Oil Refinery process safety.
- Strong communication skills.

- Physical fitness for working at heights of approximately 50 meters.
- Proactive problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented and precise in work.
- Flexibility for rotational shifts and weekend/holiday work.
