Head of Internal Audit & Compliance
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive internal audit strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives;
- Manage and provide leadership to the internal audit team, including training, and performance management;
- Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, including financial, operational, and compliance controls;
- Produce an evidence-based annual internal audit opinion on the overall adequacy and effectiveness of the organization's framework of governance, risk management and control;
- Establish an internal accountability and assurance framework including how internal audit works with other providers of assurance;
- Regularly review and update the audit plans to address emerging risks and changing business needs;
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies;
- Communicate audit findings, recommendations, and progress reports effectively to facilitate decision-making and promote accountability.
- Drive the enhancement of audit methodologies, tools, and processes to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and relevance;
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure the internal audit function remains current and proactive;
- Establish clear lines of reporting of the HIAC to the leadership team and to the audit committee;
- Assessing Risk and recommending ways of mitigation;
- Performing control test to ensure control mechanisms are adequate to safeguard assets of the company;
- Checking accuracy of financial reporting;
- Business process efficiency analysis;
- Participating in Policy and process development;
- Ensuring approval of audit committee on internal audit charter and plan;
