Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.

Dental Radiographs.

Serving as an infection control officer developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment operating autoclave evening shift.

Process and sterilize hand piece according to clinic protocol.

Dental treatment room disinfection.

Collecting and recording patient health histories.

Review daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments.

Taking impressions of patient teeth for study casts (crowing, RPD, models of teeth).

Helping patients feel comfortable before during and after dental treatment.

Perform oral hygiene instructions.

Communicating with patients and suppliers e.g. Scheduling appointment, answering the telephone, lab works.

Asking about the patient’s medical history.

Dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins-scaling and polishing.

Examine patients for signs of oral diseases and provide other preventive dental care.

Providing emergency care in terms of temporary dressings and pain killers.

Pits and fissure fillings (minor fillings).

Maintenance of dental unit for proper functioning.

Keeping record and stock of medicines for dental patients.

Maintaining material supply for the dental procedures.

Keeping record of payments of consultants.

Requirements

Diploma in Dental Hygienist with relevant experience
