Provincial Vaccine Management & Cold Chain Logistics Officer

This position will support Polio program to ensure PEI vaccines with related logistics are delivered to provinces in right quantities at right time and in right condition before every PEI activity with the implementation of supply chain, temperature monitoring protocols and proper documentation at every level.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Support timely vaccine distribution to districts for all PEOC approved activities.

Provide immediate facilitation to provincial teams for vaccine issuance in case of any urgent additional demand from districts during the campaign.

Take lead in efficient working and maintenance of vaccine management database. Provide support for PEI vaccine stock management systems for tracking vaccines and monitoring wastage.

Ensure Vaccine weekly reports are submitted regularly on PEOC approved template from the Provincial and District levels.

Ensure vaccine leftover quantities are tracked from Districts and Provinces after every SIA/Case Response and report submitted on National & PEOC on approved template to report on balances available for the next activity.

Support vitamin A issuances to districts and leftover reporting for NID with Vit A supplementation.

Support implementation of GPEI VM protocols for type 2 containing vaccine as & when used in the country.

Make field visits for validation of vaccine reports, capacity building and supportive supervision of staff on implementation of Vaccine Management SOPs.

Assist in capacity building of provincial & district vaccine management committees, provincial/district/UC level vaccine handlers and relevant staff through workshops, orientation sessions, training.

Support PEOCs & DEOCs in capacity building, training and ensuring PEI vaccine record is maintained at UC/Health facility level.

Guide and support districts in ensuring district vaccine management committees are functional & vaccine wastage rates are within acceptable limits.

Ensure vaccine data and campaign monitoring findings on Vaccine Management is regularly analyzed, and reviewed, and follow-up actions are taken to address any discrepancies/inconsistencies and issues identified.

Support Provincial/District EOCs in adapting Effective Vaccine Management (EVM) practices and implementation of VM SOPs at Provincial, District & Sub-district levels.

Support in preparation of PEI vaccine annual update, presentations / briefs and reports on vaccine management progress for EOC and UNICEF Polio Team as and when required.

Provide administrative & technical support to the supervisor as and when required.

Essential Requirements:

Technical expertise in Cold Chain, Supply Management, Immunization and vaccines.

Ability to use databases, computer software, manage multiple and complex datasets, and various office applications

Data analytical skills, communication skills, planning and monitoring skills to organize work and projects.

Graphic presentation skills to present complex data in an easily understandable way (tables, graphs, charts, and maps).

Conducting trainings and workshops.

Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outside the organization.

Languages: Good written and spoken English and Urdu.
