Senior Software Engineer

Job Purpose :

The purpose of this job is to effectively manage and execute tasks in the software development life cycle, this role involves visiting districts and health facilities on a monthly basis to address field-level issues and prepare monitoring reports.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Identify, prioritize and execute the tasks in the software development life cycle.

Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code.

Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting.

Review and debug code.

Perform validation and verification testing.

Collaborate with internal teams to fix and improve products.

Document development phases and monitor systems.

Ensure software is up to date with latest technologies.

Visit the districts and health facilities in a month for correcting the issues at the field level and prepare monitoring report

Essential Requirements

An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in computer science will be preferred. *A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 4 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.

A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in the relevant field

Developing countries work experience and/or familiarity with health information systems is considered an asset.

Relevant experience of the development of softwares, tools etc of an information system.

Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of local languages is an asset

Exceptional organizational skills, ability to facilitate communication between various levels of management and partners and work independently to meet deadlines
