Manager - Agriculture
Job Responsibilities
- Analyze existing operations, crops, livestock, staff, and financial documents and recommending improvements.
- Prepare plans and schedules for planting and harvesting and ensuring staff understands expectations.
- Visit the different divisions to inspect crops, livestock, and also perform tests on soil and water.
- Ensure seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies are regularly restocked.
- Schedule repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and machinery.
- Maintain and monitor the quality of yield, whether livestock or crops.
- Understand the implications of the weather and making contingency plans.
- Handle the marketing and sale of products produced on the farm like fruit, vegetables, dairy, meat, and grain.
- Ensure all staff adheres to health and safety regulations.
- Assist with the recruitment and training of new staff members.
- Maintain a knowledge of pests and diseases and an understanding of how they spread and how to treat them.
- Build a professional network and keeping abreast of developments in agricultural science.
Experience Requirements
- At least 8 year(s)
Additional Requirements
- Age 35 to 50 years
- Al least 8 years of extensive experience in a farming-related field.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills;
- Ability to work effectively with senior leadership and all other levels in the factory;
- Self-motivated to make decisions in stressful environments;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Willing to stay beside factory.
