Job Responsibilities
- Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Leadership on community based and school based DRR capacity to reduce the risks and preparedness to respond to natural and human-induced disasters.
- Work closely with partners at the community-level and within a project team to proactively strengthen community-based awareness and early warning initiatives.
- Ensure timely and effective implementation of project activities
- Conduct needs/risk/vulnerability assessments of targeted communities and structures and facilitate the design of tailored DRR interventions.
- Ensure engagement and involvement of affected population particularly vulnerable groups such as women, persons with disability, youth, religious and ethnic groups, taking into consideration protection and environmental aspects.
- Technical assistance, training and mentoring to staff RI DRR staff and program partners in order to improve technical quality of project implementation
- Any other relevant assignment by line manager.
- Specific Project Management Tasks:
- Lead or assist and advise staff and RI partners on sector data collection and analysis.
- Provide technical assistance and lead DRR, specific strategies/methodologies and budget preparations.
- Lead implementation of DRR project interventions to achieve project outputs and objectives, including regular monitoring
- Provide training to project staff to improve their awareness of and skills with respect to implementation of activities
- Lead, advice and participate in periodic and end of project learning reviews and evaluations, and the analysis of results.

Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in international development, disaster risk management, climate change adaptation, humanitarian assistance, organization development or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
