ECCD Facilitator

Job Purpose:

The ECCD (Early Childhood Care and Development) Facilitator will be responsible for supporting the early stimulation for younger children. She will also be responsible to strengthen the IYCF practices through providing key messages to the mothers and care givers of target child group. She will ensure that children are playing with age appropriate toys at the play / ECCD corner to support the early stimulation of children as well as proper growth and development. She will also be responsible to deliver key ECCD messages to the caregiver of the children. The ECCD facilitator will perform other activities requested by her supervisor based on project need.

Main duties & responsibilities:

Support to roll out effective integration of ECCD activities at the nutrition facility.

Responsible for well organization and cleanliness of ECCD corner at the nutrition facility.

Provide necessary support and information to the mothers / caregivers to take appropriate care of their children for proper growth and development.

Organize child play area with age appropriate toys.

To look after the children in the ECCD corner and ensure that the children are playing with the age-specific toys

Disseminate key messages on ECCD to mothers / Caregivers.

Work closely with IYCF/CMAMI counsellors for ECCD capacity building of the mothers.

Home visit to follow up that mothers / caregivers are practicing the suggestions at their household level.

Raising awareness on ECCD to community stakeholders.

Work with field teams to collect information on potential case studies and success stories.

Maintain register and organize daily / weekly / monthly report for ECCD service delivery based on project need.

Undertake other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Program Manager or the line manager.

Accountability

In line with Concern’s commitments under the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS):

Actively promote meaningful community participation and consultation at all stages of the project cycle (planning, implementation, M&E);

Work with relevant colleagues to ensure that the Complaints and Response Mechanism (CRM) is functional and accessible, that feedback and complaints are welcomed and addressed;

Work with relevant colleagues to ensure that information about CRM, safeguarding and expected staff behaviour is disseminated among programme participants and communities.

Type of Contract: Fixed Term Contract up to 31 December 2024
