Deputy Chief of Party

The Deputy Chief of Party (DCoP) is responsible for overall technical and management oversight of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)-supported Momentum Private Healthcare Delivery (MPHD) Nepal project with the guidance and support from the Chief of Party (CoP). S/he will oversee all aspects of project implementation, including program quality, personnel, including financial management.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and management oversight to the project.

Support to the CoP to oversee all aspects of project implementation, including program quality, personnel, and financial management.

Provide oversight and technical direction to design, plan, deliver, monitor, document, and disseminate results to achieve the project goals.

Ensure timely and adequate implementation of project activities, deliverables execution, monitoring and reporting of the project. Support in sub-award modification of implementing partner and ensure compliance monitoring and safeguard of project assets including data safety and security in line with the FHI 360 guideline.

Manage a team of program and technical staff and work closely with the private and public sector actors including regular collaboration with the Family Welfare Division (FWD) for implementation of the project.

Lead technical and organizational capacity strengthening of implementing partner and ensure high quality implementation of the project interventions.

Explore innovative approaches including digital solutions reaching the unreached adolescent population with family planning (FP)/reproductive health (RH) information and services.

Provide guidance to the implementing partner regularly to strengthen technical and managerial capacity appropriate to the local context.

Regularly monitor and support subordinates and project staff to ensure technical and managerial capacity building of the private sector service providers and facility owners to deliver quality, and client-centered services to adolescents and young people.

Maintain close coordination with the government stakeholders, donors, external development partners, and other key local stakeholders, which include other FP partners including the private sector actors and donor.

Review global and regional developments regularly particularly in public private partnership on FP/RH including good practices and lessons learned and provide regular technical updates to the project staff, government counterparts, and collaborating partners.

Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively in virtual/digital environment and in different time zones across the globe.

Represent FHI 360 Nepal in the external meetings among the stakeholders and partners.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the CoP and Country Director.

Requirements:

Master’s degree in public health or social sciences or other relevant subject or its international equivalent, with five to seven years of experience of managing health projects especially managing FP/RH program engaging private sector health facilities and pharmacies is highly desirable.

Three to five years’ experience in the managerial position such as Deputy Project Director/Deputy Chief of Party or equivalent with experience in programmatic and financial management, compliance and quality assurance of donor-funded program and working with non-governmental organization (NGO), experience in handing USAID projects will be preferable.

Experience in the national FP/RH program including health financing, system strengthening, private sectors engagement and public private partnership.

Capable to manage diverse team and able to maintain the team spirit and creating positive work environment.
