Translation Coordinator

Job Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Line Manager, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

Read and comprehend the source texts and identify the main ideas, key terms, and cultural references.

Translate the texts from Urdu to English and vice versa, as well as from other languages as required, using specialized dictionaries, glossaries, and translation tools.

Proofread and edit the translations for grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, and consistency.

Check the translations for accuracy, clarity, and naturalness, and make sure they convey the original meaning and tone.

Adapt the translations to the target audience and context, and consider the cultural differences and sensitivities of the countries where DMIES operates.

Format and layout the translations according to the specifications and guidelines of DMIES.

Consult with the subject matter experts, the curriculum developers, the evaluators, and the trainers regarding the content and quality of the translations.

Keep track of the translation projects and deadlines and report the progress and issues to the Translation Manager.

Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in the field of translation and Islamic education. Also research and develop relevant resources.

Contribute to the improvement and maintenance of the translation database and the translation quality standards.
