Job Description

CONTEXT

Médecins Sans Frontières is a private medical international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

Providing technical expertise in the domains of gynaecology and obstetrics

Participating in the rounds carried out in the different hospital units: maternity department and IPD

Carrying out certain consultations and practicing delicate technical acts if necessary

Discussing particular cases with the health care team (decision to carry out a caesarean, specific treatments)

Checking that medical protocols and prescriptions are followed b in accordance with MSF guidelines

In collaboration with midwife ensuring the quality of obstetrical care in Maternity department

Checking that the hygiene procedures are followed in order to limit infection risks

In Operation Theatre

Carrying out elective and emergency surgical interventions in accordance with MSF protocols

Carrying out the patients pre-operative consultations before they undergo surgery

Evaluating the risks of operating in collaboration with the anaesthesiologist

Monitoring the application of hygiene protocols in theatre (decontamination, sterilisation, etc.)

Post-operative care

Carrying out joint rounds in the IPD in collaboration with the anesthetist

Guaranteeing the application of MSF protocols and the rational use of medicines

REQUIRED SKILLS

Essential skills

Doctor Degree. MCPS (Gynecology) or Diploma of Gynecology, PMDC registered

Clinical experience at Gynaecological - Obstetrical department

Fluent in English, Pashto and Urdu

Good clinical skills and surgical skills (C-section, Hysterectomy etc.)

Desirable skills: Teamwork, Flexibility, Patience, Diplomatic communication, Commitment, Reporting skills, Stress management

CONDITIONS

WORK LOCATION: Peshawar

CONTRACT: Open Ended (Permanent full time) With Probation Period + Positions of Daily Worker

PROBABLE START DATE: As soon as possible
