Copywriter & Editor

Job Responsibilities

• Proofread English-language content produced by CMC staff and volunteers - including a large backlog of story items (less than 100 words each) and new material incoming weekly - for readability, style and grammar.
• Work with CMC curator and editor/producer to develop editorial content leading up to launch of the CMC, including key events, publications, and supporting social media content.
• Work with the CMC team to identify and develop human interest stories and other materials about Rohingya identity, heritage, memory and culture in a variety of formats, including posters, booklets, postcard sets, articles, exhibition guides, etc.
• Provide support to CMC curator, photo/videographer, designers, Rohingya volunteers, etc. for scriptwriting, subtitles, wall text copy, etc.
• Provide mentorship, training and feedback on research, storytelling and copywriting to Rohingya volunteers assisting the team in the field.
• Support the curator and CMC core team with any other tasks that might be identified or relevant to the nature of the project.
