Responsibilities & Context

Summary of Project

RDRS Bangladesh, in partnership with Lutheran World Federation (LWF), Geneva has been implementing an emergency response programme titled “LWF-RDRS Emergency Programme (LREP)” in Rohingya camps and nearby host communities in Cox’s Bazar district since 2019. The LREP contributes to international efforts to meet the humanitarian and protection needs and increase self-reliance and resilience of the Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMNs) and host communities through Income Generating Activities (IGAs), tree plantation, life-skills with livelihoods and leadership development training. LREP also works on capacity building of youth and creates market linkage to improve their living standard. This programme also aims at cultivating social cohesion, ensuring social inclusion, promoting reforestation and providing humanitarian support (i.e., foods and non-food items, WASH, health, protection, etc.) to the FDMNs as well as the nearby host communities.

Summary of Position

The Assistant Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer will work closely with the Senior M&E Officer and project teams to support the effective implementation of the Collaborative, Learning, and Adapting Approach. This role involves contributing to the design and implementation of monitoring systems, data collection, analysis, and reporting. The Assistant Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer will play an important role in building the capacity of project staff, maintaining information systems, and ensuring the quality of data for informed decision-making.

Description of Responsibilities

The major responsibilities of this position are as follows:

She/he will -

Assist in the collection of high-quality Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) data throughout program implementation.

Work with project staff to ensure adherence to data collection methodologies and the MEAL system.

Support the Senior M&E Officer in selecting and training project staff in data collection methodologies and the overall MEAL system.

Assist in organizing and conducting training sessions on MEAL for project staff

Collaborate with project teams and the Senior M&E Officer to contribute to the design of monitoring systems for all projects executed by the organization.

Contribute to the preparation of periodic reports (quarterly, midterm, and annual) by consolidating and analyzing data on program implementation and indicators.

Assist in preparing reports on project progress, providing meeting minutes, and disseminating information.

Contribute to the development and maintenance of an information management system, identifying gaps, tools, and techniques for effective information gathering, data entry, storage, and analysis.

Participate in project proposal preparation for donors, ensuring alignment with MEAL requirements.

Support networking and participation in various Government, Donor, and NGO forums, representing the organization as needed.

Maintain the Accountability system of the organization, preparing regular reports.

Follow up on safeguarding reporting procedures in case of any reportable incidents.

Contribute to the preparation of the Issues Log and Risk Log for the project.

Identify lessons learned and assist in the development of case studies to capture qualitative outputs of the project.

Maintain the database of project activities for preparing 4W Reporting.

Assist various program teams in data analysis.
