District Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work under the supervision of Program Manager (PMU) to oversee implementation of Child Protection activities (UNICEF funded) ensuring that services are delivered timely.

Develop detailed implementation plans at district level activities including procurement and distribution schedules of project inputs in also line logistics requirements.

Supervises the implementation of Child Protection activities at District level ensuring appropriate coordination with other sectors.

Provides Program Manager with detailed information regarding activities on a weekly basis/monthly basis.

Responsible for the proper design and monitoring of weekly work plan, registration of children in risk, identification/follow up at community level.

Ensures that equipment inventories are up to date and that replacement needs are highlighted

Ensures the participation of all groups of children, especially children who are the most vulnerable

Ensures adherence to the Child Protection Policy and reporting procedures.

Supports trainers and carries out training for project staff, public authorities/CPCs/Adolescents Champion’s as designed in the log frame.

Any Other tasked assigned by Supervisor.

Qualification:

Master in Social Sciences and / or Human Rights

At-least 5 years of relevant professional experience in managing, leading and coordinating child protection / social development projects;

Relevant professional experience of working with / for the government is asset, particularly in NMDs;

Relevant professional experience in team leadership, project management and coordination with divers group of government and non-government stakeholders and partners;

Relevant professional experience in producing quality documentation, project reports, lesson learnt papers, as well as monitoring and assessment reports (both qualitative and quantitative);

Relevant professional experience in social mobilization, community mobilization and technical capacity building of project staff and members from children and communities particularly within the scope of child protection and child rights.
