Organization: The T.E.A. Project – a Children’s Rights led INGO in Sri Lanka and registered UK Charity.
Purpose: To manage T.E.A Project finance, reporting and monitoring in line with The Charity Commission and the NGO National Secretariat and The T.E.A. Project reporting procedures.
A key role of the Finance Officer (FM) will be to complete monthly finance monitoring and recording (income and expenditure) and prepare quarterly and end of year finance reports. The FM will be responsible to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities
Preparation on Quarterly finance reports
Initiating payments on Bank – Online fund transfer
Withdrawing money from Bank
Checking on Bank balances time to time on deposit and recording them on spread sheets
Creating invoices and Bills when necessary
· Initiate Salary transfer- Create Pay slips- Mail to individual staff and Director
· Examining bank statements and Bank Account reconciliations
· Keeping all the Invoice Recording as Payable and Process the Accounts Payable
· Document financial transactions by entering account information
· Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents
· Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
· Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
· Secure financial information by completing database backups
· Support month-end and year-end close process
· Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
· Maintain the Inventory Quantity and Valuation
· Maintain Company Petty Cash as per the Company Policy
· Preparation of quarterly Financial Report
.· Guiding on decisions made by the Board on finance related activities
· Preparation of Fund flow chart for the secretariat
· Analyzing, determine the state of the company’s financial health and Daily Cash Flow.
· Generating financial reports that display the company’s profits, equity Balance Sheet.
· Assisting the Finance Director and Treasurer with various tasks, preparation of quarterly / annual monitoring statistics and analysis of data
· Preparation of the Annual Budget
· Recruitment Process And Preparation Of Job Offer And Letter Of Appointments
· Employee Appraisal Annual Review
· Complete Process of Deduction and Payment of EPF / ETF as per labour law
· Ad hoc Management Information
· Ensure compliance with Sri Lankan Labour law
Qualifications
Partly/fully qualified in CIMA (UK) or possessing finance related qualificationative
Minimum two years of experience in finance & HR management
Experience in the NGO industry is preferable but not essential
Legal/labour laws understanding and finance compliance
HR understanding/experience of working in HR
Living in Kandy/ central province
Working 3 days at the office & 2 days home based
Excellent command of the English Language (Written and spoken)
A good team player
IT skills, experience in reporting and organisation skills
Creative/flexible but still maintain discipline and integrity
