Project Officer

Purpose of the position:

The Project Officer will be primarily responsible for implementing the quarterly and annual plan of action of the Governance, Response Readiness, Institutional and Community Preparedness (GRIP) program activities in Southeast Bangladesh, under the supervision of Assistant Project Manager (APM).

Roles and Responsibility:

Support to implement the GRIP program (operational and financial management) for ensuring and achieving the program objectives as the indicators.

Support to conduct different surveys, and assessments such as Enhance Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment (EVCA), impact assessment, baseline survey, midterm, and final evaluation.

Prepare/support to prepare weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, and quarterly annual plans along with the required budget for the GRIP program.

Prepare/support the preparation of different Tools, guidelines, ToR, IEC materials, and training modules, Facilitators guiding notes in coordination with SPOs of the GRIP Program.

Coordinate, supervise, and monitor GRIP Program activities at the community level and school level.

Follow up and monitor the progress of the implementing activities of the program.

Guide and supervise the Assistant Project Officer/Finance/Admin and Program Support Assistant-FPSA/Community Organizer-CO and Community Facilitator-CF in organizing all planned trainings, awareness campaigns, program activities, and dialogues as per requirements.

Coordinate and ensure collaboration with other programs of the organization and be ready to work to respond to any natural disaster or emergency anywhere in the respective district or Bangladesh.

To participate in various orientations, Training, workshops, seminars, meetings, and other events (GoB & other organizations).

Implement small-scale DRR mitigation Software and hardware activities in coordination with local-level DMC members, teachers, and relevant stakeholders throughout communities and schools.

Ensure program resources are used properly and immediately bring them to the attention of the district coordinator, GRIP Program /team in case of any misuse or wrongdoing.

Assist in conducting mock drills, TTx simulations, folk songs, drama, etc. in coordination with CPP and Unit volunteers.

Organize monthly, bi-monthly, and quarterly program team coordination meetings, and share the meeting minutes with the concerned person.

Developing/capturing, case studies, stories, the most significant changes, visibility, and sharing with BDRCS, IFRC, American Red Cross (AmRC) at the field level.

Check and verify all Program bills, and vouchers and forward them to the BDRCS financial department.

Undertake any other appropriate duties that may be required by the BDRCS authority.

Documentation and Reporting:

Support in preparing successes stories, learning documents to assist organizational learning.

Ensuring all program files, records, archives, and databases (documentation, ToR, File notes, meeting minutes, etc.) are kept in good order (Soft and hard copy) and updated when required.

Support in developing monthly, quarterly, and annual monitoring reports of the GRIP Program.
