Psychologist / Social Worker

Duties and Responsibilities:

Identification and registration of psychosocial issues of beneficiaries based on the vulnerability criteria.

Actively promote the availability of counseling services and carry out, individual or group counselling (psychological first aid (PFA) and psychosocial support (PSS), basic psychoeducational sessions to children, adolescents and caregivers/ families, in order to improve their psychosocial difficulties.

Refer clients to other specialists or other institutions for further assistance, when necessary, in line with the available local referral pathways, to ensure effective and efficient case management process.

Keep files and data of daily activities and participate in team meetings to share experiences and discuss special cases with the supervisor respecting confidentiality, and or with MHPSS.

Take an active part in MHPSS related training for CPCs members, Adolescents champions, Community influencers, community volunteers etc.

Actively engage the case and caregiver to participate in the case management process and share information appropriately in line with case management information management protocol

Ensure that files, registers and databases are used in an appropriate and correct manner and ensure Community Animator or other staff adhere to proper documentation and data protection protocols

Document best practice, case studies and learnings for reporting.

Receive reports of cases from community based child protection System, etc. and give feedbacks as necessary.

Plan and conduct awareness raising sessions on prevention and in response to concerns identified.

Conduct monthly regular meetings with community groups and stakeholders to monitor progress and ensure smooth running of the project.

Facilitate group therapy and support group sessions in coordination with the multidisciplinary team.

Organize community awareness activities for Children & Caregivers in the communities/Schools/Madrassa.

Improving parents' and caregivers' comprehension, expertise, and abilities in safeguarding children from violence and neglect promoting positive parenting practices and emphasizing the importance of self-care.

Implementing, coordinating, collaborating with relevant stakeholders and delivering protection and MHPSS services to children and adolescents in district Khyber, Kurram, and South Waziristan, ensuring that children and adolescents receive the necessary support and care to meet their protection and MHPSS needs, specifically utilizing Child Protection Vans (CP Vans)

Establishment of peer support network among street children, with the objective of reducing instances of abuse and violence experienced by children living on the streets by developing the framework and guidelines for the peer support network, including recruitment and training processes for the peer wardens to promote the safety and well-being of street children through a supportive and protective community-based approach.

Qualification:

Master/BS in Psychology and / or Social Work and / or sociology.

With one year Diploma in Clinical Psychology and / or Social Work will be a given Preference.

04 Years of relevant counselling or related working experience with children/Families affected by conflict situation.
