Summary of position:

Carrying out surveillance and guarding activities in MSF facilities, according to MSF protocols and security rules, in order to ensure the safety and security of all missions personnel and premises.

Key Responsibilities:

To watch and protects all properties and personnel within the limits of his work area; control access to the work area and MSF houses following the instructions of supervisor

Report immediately to the line manager of any incident of theft, damage, abuse, threat to MSF property or security problems.

Monitors and records the movements of all vehicles and persons in a log book at the entrance of the office/house.

Responsible to record all assets coming in and going out of the duty location

Monitor incoming visitors by reporting and recording information of all visitors in log book and informs the concerned people in the MSF office/premises.

During the duty keep the compound and surrounding area clean and well maintained.

Specifically denies access to all persons carrying arms in accordance to the Geneva conventions protecting medical installation/activities.

Never leave his work area unattended and unprotected; remain on duty until properly relieved,

Do not sleep while on duty. Sleeping on duty or leaving his post will be considered a serious offense for which the employee is liable to dismissal without notice.

Ensure proper handover when starting and ending a shift.

Report all incidents to supervisor as soon as it happens.

In charge of switching on and off the generator (following the schedule), Supervising diesel/petrol tank levels and providing spare can(s) of fuel.

Ensuring the correct functioning of generator (starting, switching off, record sheet of operating hours and maintenance)

Knowledgeable of use of fire extinguishers (being aware of their location.

Checking that the doors and windows are locked, and security lights are off when people leave premises.

Checking that security lights are working properly and informing the Supervisor of any possible problems.

In charge of pumping water to the tank and checking that water is always available

The employee may be required to perform other tasks, or take other responsibilities, and work in other locations, depending on the needs of the project/mission.

Responsible for receiving handover of MSF vehicle from the driver end of evening shift, to check the vehicle condition.

Informing Supervisor of arrival of any materials before unloading and helping MSF staff carry heavy items, if necessary.
