Provincial Coordinator - (Punjab)

Position Purpose:

The Provincial Coordinator will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful implementation of the Immunization Monitoring Project at the provincial level. The coordinator's responsibilities encompass providing expert technical guidance, robust support, and effective coordination to ensure the proficient monitoring of immunization activities. This role necessitates close collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including provincial and federal authorities, UNICEF, WHO, EPI Teams, and field personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise the execution of Immunization Monitoring Project activities within the designated province.

Collaborate closely with the provincial health directorate to ensure alignment with project objectives and guidelines.

Establish and maintain security clearances for Field Monitors (FMs) to conduct monitoring activities within the designated area.

Ensure that all implementing partners are onboard and aligned with the Third-Party Field Monitoring (TPFM) framework.

Coordinate with relevant officers, including health ministers, to share monitoring findings in consultation with the provincial UNICEF health specialist.

Develop a contingency plan to address high turnover among Field Monitors in selected districts.

Collaborate with district-level stakeholders and local communities to ensure effective implementation.

Provide expert technical guidance to provincial and district-level technical staff engaged in immunization activities.

Facilitate staff reshuffling within the local context to optimize performance, in consultation with management.

Design and oversee capacity-building initiatives to enhance the expertise and skills of field personnel.

Foster seamless collaboration with UNICEF advisors, Federal Directorate of Immunization (FDI/EPI), and other stakeholders.

Facilitate effective communication and coordination among project partners at the provincial level.

Implement real-time or nearly real-time data collection methods for programmatic monitoring.

Ensure prompt and accurate reporting of monitoring findings to relevant authorities and stakeholders.

Uphold the use of approved data collection tools and methodologies as specified by FDI.

Monitor the quality and consistency of collected and reported data to ensure precision and uniformity.

Analyze monitoring findings and collaborate with field teams to identify and address corrective actions.

Provide evidence-based recommendations to enhance immunization activities and coverage.

Collaborate closely with local stakeholders to elevate immunization initiatives in the province.

Maintain comprehensive records of project activities, including reports, meeting minutes, and essential documentation.

Organize periodic refresher trainings for field monitoring staff on monitoring techniques and checklists.

Document and report issues, challenges, and gaps related to various components of EPI/FDI.

Uphold a strict code of conduct and ethics, ensuring Field Monitors adhere to the highest ethical standards.

Prohibit Field Monitors from taking corrective actions or interfering with monitoring findings without prior written notification.

Ensure that field staff do not represent themselves as UNICEF members to stakeholders.

Address any additional field and program-related matters as required by UNICEF or due to exigent situations.
